Vistas of Santander

Yesterday my mother arrived in Spain!!! Her flight got in at three so at around 3:30 I went down to the hotel lobby to meet her. I was sitting in a little alcove reading, when I noticed a woman had come in the door to the hotel cafĂ© (the wrong door) and had fallen, with her suitcase, in the foyer. Seconds later I realized that that woman was my mom! She’s always been one to make an entrance! After weeks away from home, I was so happy to see her that my hug might have looked more like a tackle to the casual observer, and my motive might have seamed to topple her for a second time. I apologize for failing to capture this on camera.

The crazy beautiful view from our hotel room!

So she arrived with a bang! And after a quick freshening up, we were out exploring Santander. We decided to spend the day at El Parque de Cabo Mayor, which is a beautiful costal park situated on a series of bluffs with a lighthouse-turned-art-gallery at its westernmost point. This consumed all of our daylight hours so I don’t have much else to report but I do have lots of beautiful landscapes to share. So here are the pictures! Enjoy.
