Salam Alaikum and Turkish Breakfast

While staying in Germany it is the expectation that I will experience and appreciate German culture, and I am doing that. But, because my host family is Turkish, I am also experiencing Turkish culture. I now regularly say things like salam alaikum, which means peace to you in Arabic. Arabic speaking friends, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is what it looks like in Arabic:

And then there's the Turkish food!!!!!! Can I just say YUM! Upon rising this afternoon at 1pm, this was waiting for me:

My host father told me there is a Turkish proverb that says in three days a guest becomes family. I'm one day away from that three day mark. Here's hoping these breakfasts don't go away!

Zeynep's 9-year-old little sister Zümra made a face out of her breakfast! How cute is this?!
